Publications
One of the commitments of Communication Crossroads has been to further the understanding
of the factors that lead to social-communication disorders by contributing to academic
journals, consulting to ongoing research projects, and understanding the influence
of contemporary therapeutic/educational models on improving quality of life for
children with ASD and their families. Publications by Emily Rubin, MS, CCC-SLP and
Amy Laurent, Ed.M., OTR/L have included a review of the current diagnostic criteria
for pervasive developmental disorders, a critique of contemporary intervention models,
and the impact of social-pragmatic functioning on language development in children.
